President Duterte Receives due Recognition from a Prominent Doctor

“My President, A Man of Duty and Honor.”

That was the title of a Facebook post published by Dr. Lorraine T. Badoy, a notable Duterte supporter. In the said Facebook status posted on Thursday, Dr. Lorraine, who's also the current DSWD Assistant Secretary expressed her sentiments and compliments to President Rodrigo Duterte commending him for his selflessness and dedication to serve the Filipinos.

“This President [referring to Duterte] works himself to the bone and goes over and beyond what is expected of him. If there is anyone who is the most exacting taskmaster of this President, it is the President himself. Rodrigo Duterte asks of himself the Impossible ---which is why he gets the impossible done…. This President has the political will, the smarts, the heart, mind, soul to lead us out of the horrific mess we’ve been in for ages,” wrote Dr. Lorraine Badoy.

Aside from Dr. Badoy’s positive assessment of the President’s leadership, she also injected negative criticisms in her post addressed to some personalities from the opposition namely: Vicky Garchitorena and Sen. Antonio Trillanes.

“I LOVE it so much when people criticize our President for fantastic non-issues. It makes me laugh with glee because then I see exactly the caliber of nincompoops he is dealing with. Then I heave a sigh of relief,” Dr. Badoy claimed.

She then continued with the unfavorable remarks given against the president by the two abovementioned critics, the ones she referred to as “clowns”.

“For instance, I saw Vicky Garchitorena’s tweet about how she thought the President’s no-show at the Independence Day rites and the Vin d' Honneur was a “dereliction of his duty!” What I found even more comical was how she punctuated her tweet with exclamation points. I read too that other clown—Sonny Trillanes’ statement—about how lazy our President is for not waking up for this same event.”

Considering such remarks as “trash”, Badoy explained that the major reason why Duterte was unable to attend such rites was because Duterte had been up all night until the wee hours of the morning condoling with grieving widows and orphans of our fallen heroes. “Imagine that.” claimed Dr. Badoy.

Dr. Badoy furthered her defense of the President saying that “maybe they [Garchitorena and Trillanes] have no idea that sleep is a physiological need—like oxygen-- and that President needs to sleep the way they do? More so this President who is no slacker and whose work ethic is unimpeachable and beyond reproach.”

She even made a sarcastic note by stating that for Garchitorena and Trillanes, the president’s initiative to console the families of the fallen soldiers is way less important than having pretentious appearance on TV.

“In Vicky’s and Sonny’s minds, a President lending weight to the deaths of our soldiers and staying till the wee hours is of no importance. He should have, maybe, absconded on all that pakikiramay, go to bed early because you know, TV time tomorrow. Must sleep early.” Dr. Badoy claimed.

“I have come to accept that this poor benighted land of ours is dotted with elitist dolts who would rather have a useless president look decent as he smartly salutes our flag in Independence Day rites but will not lend weight to the deaths of our fallen soldiers and putting the full majesty of the Office of the President behind those deaths when he meets the bodies of our heroes and comforts their grieving families.” Dr. Badoy added.

The speculations went on with Badoy claiming that the likes of Garchitorena and Trillanes prefer to have an efficient president who favors public exposure more than his countrymen.

“The Vickies and Sonnies of this country would rather their president go to a car factory launch as bodies of those who put themselves on the line for Country fall and as their bodies lie inside their coffins with the Philippine flag draped over it—just as long as he goes live on TV in full attendance during Independence Day rites that achieves absolutely nothing substantial for this country. Appearances. Above all else, appearances!” Dr. Badoy asserted.

On the latter part of her post, Dr. Badoy distinguished Duterte as someone whose level of honor and duty is aligned to those of our fallen heroes in the ongoing Marawi crisis. As how Badoy had put it on her post:

“They [referring to the soldiers] leave family and comfort and go to where it is they are sent and they do so with not a peep of protest. And when it gets to the point where they are asked to offer up their lives for country, there will be no kicking and screaming in protest for them. They take their place and they do so with honor, courage and dignity.” Dr. Badoy acknowledged.

She continued saying that: “These same men and women --honorable, courageous, true--hold our President in high esteem and they do so because they both speak the same languge of duty and honor. Something these buffoons [referring to anti-Duterte critics] know nothing of.”

Dr. Badoy’s post ended with a simple remark emphasizing how the anti-Duterte critics, specifically the ilk of Garchitorena and Trillanes, make a big fuss out of insignificant issues only to cause Duterte some intrigues or controversies.

“…maybe they have nothing else to throw at this President. So they make do with the precious little they can hang him for and pound on it with their exclamations points, hoping against hope they can exclamation point some life into such a dead non-issue. Such clowns.” Dr. Badoy concluded.
